Wir haben eine Einladung zur Vernissage Lempertz in Brüssel bekommen und kurzfristig beschlossen, dort hinzureisen und zwei Tage in der belgischen Hauptstadt zu verbringen.
Die Vernissage war sehr schön, obwohl ich war überrascht, dass die Ausstellung etwas klein war, aber die Location war fantastisch! Nach der Vernissage ging es zum Abendessen zu einem wirklich tollen Ort namens La Quincaillerie. Gott sei Dank gibt es in Brüssel “UBER”, sodass wir die ganze Nacht Wein trinken konnten. La Quincaillerie ist ein berühmtes Fischrestaurant in Brüssel , und wenn Ihr in die Stadt geht, solltet ihr dort zu Abend essen!
Wir waren in einem kleinen Business-Hotel, gleich um die Ecke von der Europäischen Kommission. Eine Menge Leute fragen mich, welcher Nationalität ich mich zugehörig fühle, da ich oft in meinem Leben umgezogen bin. Ich wurde in Weißrussland geboren und zog nach Stuttgart in Deutschland als ich 14 Jahre alt war, danach war ich für eine lange Zeit in Paris und lebte zwischenzeitlich in Hamburg und Köln. Hier in der Nähe der Europäischen Kommission war das Gefühl der Zugehörigkeit zu Europa noch stärker. Ich fühle mich europäisch und ich bin stolz darauf, die Chance zu haben in der EU zu leben, wo so viele verschiedene Kulturen vereint werden!
Wir verbrachten den ganzen Tag damit typische Dinge zu tun, wie ein Besuch des Grande Place und des Atomium. Es war sehr schön, aber touristisch. Wenn ihr in Brüssel seid müsst ihr auf jeden Fall frühstücken im “Gaudron”! Dieser Ort ist toll und das Essen einfach nur lecker!
Ein weiteres “Muss” ist es, traditionelle Waffeln zu essen!!! Probiert es! Sie sind so Zoo lecker, besonders im Maisen Dandoy in der Nähe des Grand Place!
Alles in allem bin ich wirklich verliebt in Brüssel, obwohl ich das erste Mal, als ich die Stadt besucht habe, nicht sehr begeistert war! Dieses Mal habe ich die Tage mit meinem Freund verbracht, vielleicht ist das der Grund, warum ich meine Meinung geändert habe ;-).

We’ve got an Invitation to the Lempertz gallery opening in Brussels and decided to go there and spend two days in the Belgian capital.
The Vernissage was very nice, although I was surprised that is was kind of small but the location was amazing! After the Vernissage we went to have a dinner at a really amazing place called La Quincaillerie. Thanks god there is UBER in Brussels so we could drink wine all night. La Quincaillerie is a famous fish restaurant in Brussels and if you are going to the city you should have dinner there!
We were living in a small business Hotel that was just around the corner of the European Commission. A lot of people ask me what nationality I feel like, since I moved a lot in my live. I was born in Belarus and moved to Stuttgart in Germany when I was 14 years old, afterwards I was living for a long time in Paris and in between in Hamburg and Cologne. Here close to the European Commission the feeling of belonging to Europe just became stronger. I feel European and I am proud to have the chance to live in the EU, where so many different cultures are combined!
We spend the whole day doing some typical things like visiting Grande Place and Atomium. It was very beautiful but touristic. If you are in Brussels you definitely should have breakfast or brunch at Gaudron! This place is amazing and the food just delicious!
Another “must” is to eat traditional Waffle!!! You should taste it! Its soo tasty! Go to Maison Dandoy close to Grand Place!
All in all I really fell in love with Brussels, because the fist time I’ve visited the city I was not very amazed! This time I’ve spend the days with my boyfriend so maybe that was the reason why I changed my mind ;).
